Always check, recheck and then when happy check again!!!
There cannot be much worse than a viewer and potential customer becoming fed up and frustrated when your website doesn't work the way it looks as if it should. Off he/she goes and you've blown your one chance of a possible sale or a newsletter sign-up.
During the construction of my first site I found many times that things I had just added, a link or the alternate text to an image or the submission of subscribers details etc., etc., just were not actually doing what I wanted them to. So I found out why, (part of my learning curve) and put them right as they occurred until there were none left and I then checked the whole thing again. Now I am pretty confident that a badly working website will not be responsible for a poor customer experience, the content might be, but not a rubbish site.
On the subject of checking, there is not really much of an excuse for bad spelling. Most good software has a good spellchecker built in and they're easy enough to use, so use one, it only takes seconds.
Lastly, check your site regularly, you will never know if something has gone wrong or stopped working if you dont.
